Job: Maintenance Coordinator
Location: Wheatley, Oxford
Salary: £15.39 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week, alternate weekends required
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment? We’re looking for a proactive and dependable Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team and help maintain our high standards of living for our residents.
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring the home’s premises, grounds, and vehicles are maintained to a high standard. From carrying out maintenance tasks and redecorating rooms to ensuring the garden is well-kept, you’ll help create a clean, safe, and enjoyable place for residents to live. You’ll also play a vital role in our residents’ day-to-day lives by providing a safe and friendly chauffeur service to external activities using our home’s vehicles.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Maintenance & Presentation
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
  • Undertake redecoration projects (painting, wallpapering, varnishing)
  • Ensure all maintenance needs are logged and communicated effectively
  • Support with gardening and outdoor upkeep
  • Keep home vehicles clean, safe, and roadworthy
  • Drive residents to appointments and social outings, providing assistance where needed
  • Help new residents settle in, including room set-up and moving belongings
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Keep detailed records and ensure policies are followed
  • Safely manage tools, equipment, and stock
  • Conduct vehicle checks and comply with road safety regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • A practical, hands-on individual with general maintenance experience
  • Understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, Electricity at Work Act, Essentials of Food Hygiene, Infection Control
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Friendly and helpful attitude with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in supporting older people
