Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Company

Our client is an established UAE-based engineering, construction and maintenance organization delivering projects and technical services across industrial, commercial and infrastructure environments. The organization provides integrated engineering solutions covering design, project execution, construction, maintenance, procurement, testing and commissioning, with a strong focus on quality, safety and compliance with UAE regulations and international engineering standards.

Job Purpose Responsible for leading mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects and maintenance assignments. The role involves providing technical analysis and engineering solutions, managing engineering teams, and supporting projects from concept and detailed design through implementation, construction, testing and commissioning. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ensure all activities are completed safely, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, UAE regulations, applicable codes and standards, and company procedures.

Salary - upto 18k AED + Medical + air ticket allowance + Food + Accommodation + Transportation

Offshore Work assignment with 5 months on work / 1-month paid leave rotation

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineering & Design
- Lead and implement mechanical engineering design activities.
- Perform technical analysis and develop engineering solutions.
- Review mechanical designs, drawings and technical documentation.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical submittals and construction submittals.
- Ensure designs and documentation comply with UAE authority requirements, applicable codes and standards.
- Provide technical support during project execution, construction, testing and commissioning.
- Resolve mechanical engineering and technical issues during project execution.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects from concept/design through completion.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets and technical specifications.
- Coordinate mechanical activities during construction and implementation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities and internal departments.
- Monitor project progress and resolve technical and execution issues.
Team Management
- Manage and provide technical direction to engineers and draftsmen.
- Allocate work and monitor engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical coaching, guidance and training.
- Support manpower planning and duty-roster requirements.
- Monitor team performance and resource utilization.
Procurement & Technical Evaluation
- Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Prepare and review technical and material requisitions.
- Participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and provide recommendations.
- Support purchase-order activities.
- Review materials and mechanical equipment for compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and review project/departmental budgets.
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials and project resources.
- Support cost-control activities.
Testing & Commissioning
- Provide engineering support during pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning.
- Ensure mechanical systems and equipment comply with approved designs and specifications.
- Support technical issue resolution during commissioning and handover.
Reporting, Quality & HSE
- Prepare and review technical reports and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, quality and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
- Ensure contractors and project teams follow approved procedures and specifications.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3–8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably within construction, engineering, maintenance, EPC or project environments.
Previous experience working on ADNOC projects is highly preferred.
Strong experience in mechanical design, design review and project engineering.
Hands-on experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, technical submittals and construction documentation.
Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning stages.
Good understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, technical specifications and applicable engineering standards.
Experience preparing/reviewing material requisitions and participating in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and procurement activities.
Strong exposure to project planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost control.
Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and internal engineering teams.
Previous experience leading engineers/draftsmen, allocating work and monitoring technical deliverables.
Strong knowledge of UAE regulations, applicable codes, engineering standards, HSE and quality requirements.
Strong technical problem-solving, reporting, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
UAE/GCC project experience would be an advantage.
