POSITION SUMMARY

Thales is looking to hire a Maintenance Coordinator who will provide work package support to the Ship Maintenance Leads and the broader Service Delivery team managing and coordinating assigned Technical Support Network (TSN) (sub-contractors) during each Work Period. This role ensures that TSN’s complete all agreed maintenance activities to the required quality in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. TSN’s deliver complete Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for all completed tasks; management of all special tools and test equipment loaned to TSN’s; management of all material expended or returned by the TSN’s; and ensuring Maintenance Data is updated in Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS). Reporting to the NEM Liaison & Service Delivery Team Lead, the Maintenance Coordinator assists Ship Maintenance Leads in generation and management of reports along with management of additional documentation required to facilitate planning, executing and closing out each work period.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2-year technical program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or University Degree or certified as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body in a relevant field marine field or certified as Navy QL 6 and above for technical trades of the RCN.
  • Experience within procurement, project management or operations highly desirable; and Project experience interfacing between internal/external stakeholders.
  • Minimum two years of previous experience working within the Military or a Industrial Contract or Project desirable; Experience with the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), or comparable document management system is advantageous;
  • Experience working in SAP, or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning or Asset Management software is advantageous;
  • Previous experience in ship-refit and repair activities is advantageous.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Office and Naval ships alongside in harbor, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.
