KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through your actions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness. Respond promptly to work orders and requests to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues. Proactively identify and resolve facility issues, preventing major breakdowns. Learn and perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, housekeeping, and landscaping. Engage in safe work practices, including handling heights, electricity, plumbing, pumps, chemicals, and complete required safety training. Assist with event set ups and takedowns, ensuring facilities are prepared for special events and programs. Communicate the importance of the Y’s commitment to child protection and enforce all YMCA policies. Be flexible and available to cover shifts, including times when the building is closed for special repairs and cleaning. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Goal-oriented, open-minded, and eager to learn and ask questions. Ability to multitask and stay calm and rational in emergency situations, using sound judgment. Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and co-workers. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including off-hours for special repairs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk and move continuously throughout your shift. Comfortable working at heights at or above 12 feet. Able to lift and carry tools, ladders, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to perform CPR and First Aid in emergency situations (training will be provided).
