We are looking for a self-starter to join our fantastic, growing team as a Maintenance Crew Leader.. This role’s primary function is to effectively lead and supervise a landscape maintenance crew to perform at a high level of quality and efficiency. Crew Leaders at Fossil are responsible for the delegation of duties, on the job training, maintaining safety, accurate and timely record keeping through LMN, and operating policies are being followed and providing an outstanding property maintenance service to each of our clients. This is a permanent, full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven landscape maintenance experience on large estates/high-end properties
  • Leadership experience
  • Post Secondary education in Horticulture (Certification, Diploma or Red Seal) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and deliver timely results
  • Outstanding attention to detail and focus on quality
  • Must have the ability to be physically active for eight (8) hour work shift.
  • Proven sense of urgency and ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Valid BC driver’s license required
  • A valid B.C pesticide applicators license, or be willing to get one
Responsibilities
  • Lead crew to carry out maintenance operations across all assigned properties and ensure tasks are completed to an exceptional level of quality while working within the time allocated for each property.
  • Supervise and work with crew to follow, complete and continuously develop defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each property visit.
  • Hands-on pruning of trees, shrubs, and hedges, weeding, lawn care, pest control, bed work, line edging, irrigation and lighting repairs, planting, and renovations
  • Driving a company truck and ensuring it is organized and fully equipped for the scheduled jobs
  • Monitor team’s attendance and entering hours into the payroll system on time
