Job Summary: The Director of Facilities ensures that all the Hospital properties are clean, safe, and well-maintained for patients, visitors, and employees. The Director of Facilities is also the Emergency Management Coordinator for Lake Buter Hospital. This includes managing: Environmental Services to clean the facility on a daily basis, provide fresh laundry, and ensure a sanitary environment. Maintenance to establish maintenance schedules and conduct ongoing maintenance inspections, and also identify areas or equipment in need of repair. Coordinating renovations or other updates to facilities. Security to ensure the safety of all employees, patients, and visitors. Coordinating response to disaster related concerns, hurricanes, drills, and responding as the Emergency Management Coordinator when applicable. This position is responsible for staff scheduling, policies and procedures, maintenance and repairs, hospital equipment inspection and repair, property management, supply management, security systems, fire and life safety systems, laundry, and more. Lake Butler, Starke, Gainesville, Alachua, High Springs, Macclenny, Glen Saint Mary, Lake City, Keystone Heights, Baldwin, Jacksonville, Middleburg, Orange Park Requirements Education: High School graduate required. Technical education or further education highly desired. Experience: 5-7 years in public building maintenance and housekeeping management experience required; Health Care experience highly desired. Experience in Security and Emergency Management highly desired. Supervisory experience required. Skills: Advanced building maintenance and housekeeping skills. Experience in building and/or maintaining mechanical systems. Excellent organizational /prioritization skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business applications, technical procedures, and government regulations. Strong grammar skills, written and oral. Computer skills, including all Microsoft Office software to include Word and Excel. Effective oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills a must. Knowledge: Basic principles of service and sanitation. Ability to create a maintenance schedule, Ability to troubleshoot. Knowledge of structure or grounds to be maintained, Knowledge of maintenance procedures, systems to be maintained (e.g. Electrical, roofing, A/C). Abilities: Ability to prioritize work projects, exercises independent decision making, ability to work independently and as a team member, ability to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner exercising sound judgment and discretion. Strong management and communications skills. Ability to work well under high pressure situations, is results oriented and a self-starter.
