POSITION SUMMARY Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to lead all facility maintenance operations within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, compliant, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors while ensuring all building systems and equipment operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety compliance, and preventive maintenance programs, preferably within a healthcare or skilled nursing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee daily operations of the maintenance department * Maintain facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment * Ensure compliance with OSHA, CMS, Life Safety Code, and state/federal regulations * Manage preventive maintenance schedules and facility inspections * Coordinate repairs, renovations, and vendor services * Supervise maintenance staff and departmental budgets * Maintain grounds, parking areas, and overall facility appearance * Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed * Promote a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent required * Prior maintenance leadership experience preferred * Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, hospital, or healthcare facilities strongly preferred * Knowledge of Life Safety Code and healthcare compliance standards * Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills * Ability to troubleshoot facility systems and manage multiple priorities * Ability to lift, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance duties WHAT WE OFFER * Competitive salary * Health, dental, and vision insurance * Paid time off and holidays * 401(k) with company match * Supportive team environment * Career growth opportunities within Optalis Healthcare ABOUT THE FACILITY Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Grand Rapids is a full continuum-of-care campus offering skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, memory care, and independent living services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. #GR
