Description Job Title: Facility Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager Time commitment: 40 hours per week Reports to: Executive Director Status: Full-time, exempt This role requires a broad skillset. The ideal candidate must work well with students and adults and be willing to mentor students who might be working part-time as part of a maintenance team. Duties and Responsibilities: Able to lift up to 70 lbs regularly Work with city regulators and building inspectors to keep systems current and licensed Work with vendors and organize schedules Scraping sidewalks of ice/snow and salting (dumpster area as well) Clogged toilet or sink and basic bathroom/kitchen plumbing Landscape maintenance not done by contractor Fixing buildings / apartments as needed or scheduling professionals as needed (cabinets, fridges, etc.) Apartment appliance maintenance like run Cleaning Cycle on all washing machines with appropriate detergent Coordinate apartment cleaning monthly, between crew and staff Clean supply areas and janitorial areas Work/manage ALL vendors and build relationship with each team Purchase supplies for janitorial and weekly apartment paper, cleaning needs Parking lot maintenance and upkeep along with cleaning dumpster area regularly Change out smoke alarm batteries on rotation rather than when beeping Service locks and panic bars for smooth operation Clean large ducting in gym along with basketball standards, scoreboards, etc Operate machinery for maintenance (ie: lawn trimmer, mower, scissor lift, vehicles, etc) Manage events coming and going and make sure tables, chairs and carts are cleaned and put away each time Clean gym after events Help cleaning crew stay on top of large jobs (under bleachers, on bleachers) Help where cleaning crew does not clean (tables and chairs, sidewalks, loading dock, dumpsters, concession equipment, etc) Pressure wash dock, sidewalks, outside doors, dumpster area Furnace maintenance Wash towels / rags for cleaning crew weekly Replace ceiling tiles that are soiled or discolored Certifications / fire drills, maintenance / chemical SDS emergency book Floor maintenance Power washing Able to be performed without supervision (with minimal training) and with a final outcome that is typical of a new building A self-starter and hard worker Safely climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, sit, stand, lay down and stand back up as part of daily routine Requirements Qualifications: Building maintenance of commercial building over 100,000 SF (school or hospital) Preferred Licensed Commercial Trades - HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, etc. Commercial Building Maintenance Housekeeping Experience Ability to work alone and with others Organizational skills to identify and complete the highest priority Willingness to learn and adjust as needed Good driving record and able to operate basic equipment generally used during regular duties Background check and drug screenings are mandatory.
Responsibilities
