Description

Vitro, North America’s largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass is currently seeking a Maintenance Electrical Technologist for their Coater operations at its Wichita Falls, Texas location. The Maintenance Electrical Technologist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This role requires extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Knowledge/ Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control theory, automation systems, components, and safety practices.
  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., using languages, like Ladder Logic, Structured Txt, Function Block Diagram) and HMI development is essential.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and other relevant safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions effectively.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with cross- functional teams and customers.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred but not mandatory

  • Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Identifies, specifies, install, troubleshoots, and maintains all process control assets within the Coaters-remains current on all process control developments in the industry and within the business, communicates with corporate groups, and interacts with peers at other Vitro locations
  • Manage capital projects and improvements from definition to implementation, from bidding projects, to purchasing decisions, installation, maintenance, and document and operation documentation creation
  • Maintain and develop the Coater process control systems daily
  • Review and analyze Coater process control systems and make corrective actions as necessary
  • Improve the process control systems, stay current with technology and activities of process control engineers at other locations, and manage complex projects
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades or modifications.
