Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Energy & Sustainability Leader will have a hands-on style to deliver the Cosma’s energy and sustainability goals, complying to ISO 50001, Magna’s internal MAFACT standards, and Cosma’s business management system. They will be fully up to date with the latest energy & sustainability policies and technologies and will be able to manage engineering projects from cradle to grave. This role will have multisite responsibility looking after CCUK and Cosma Telford.

THIS ROLE ENTAILS BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Promoting the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhering to all health and safety environmental requirements.

ENERGY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Energy Management:
  • Determination of savings opportunities
  • Carrying out profitability calculations for energy-saving projects
  • Continuous improvement of energy efficiency and reduction of energy demand through technical or organizational measures (process, plant, system optimization)
  • Use of renewable energy sources if possible
  • Determination and utilization of all possible funding’s, and reduction potentials
  • Initiate awareness-raising activities (training, demonstrations) for the staff
  • Take responsibility for Energy Compliance at the division (current legislation in energy law)
  • Take responsibility of education regarding energy management
  • Energy Monitoring & Cost Planning:
  • Determination and recording of operational energy consumption and energy costs (natural gas, electricity, heat, compressed air, water, welding gas, e.g.)
  • Preparation of consumption data for controlling for budget compilation (cost planning)
  • Ongoing plausibility check of consumption data via monitoring system (including non-production time)
  • Detection of optimization potentials through the energy monitoring system
  • Perform energy and media cost planning
  • Mafact Energy Reduction:
  • Take responsibility of the Mafact 6.10 Energy Reduction questionnaire and associated tasks
  • Monthly Energy Team Meeting
  • Monthly HSELinx Metrix entries of energy data and Sustainability projects (former energy projects)
  • Monthly update of HSELinx Global Energy Project Tracker
  • Monthly update Mafact Energy Board
  • Organization of Energy Walks / Treasure Hunts
  • Take responsibility to reach Mafact 6.10 target score
  • Benchmarking:
  • Benchmark of new / existing energy efficiency measures at other Magna plants or suppliers respectively- examination of innovative technologies / processes, the use of which sustainably promote the areas of the division in terms of energy demand
  • Stay in contact with other Energy Champions of Magna as well as with your Regional Global Energy Lead

SUSTAINABILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sustainability Management:
  • Point of contact for sustainability-related topics at the division
  • Plan strategies and concepts to establish or increase sustainability at the division
  • Implementation of Magna’s strategies to reduce GHG emissions and Magna’s target to achieve Carbon Neutrality
  • Take responsibility for the further development and implementation of life cycle assessment at the division
  • Implementation of OEMs sustainability requirements as well as implementation and monitoring of current regional legislations in the field of sustainability at the division
  • Initiate awareness-raising activities (training, demonstrations) for the staff
  • Communicate OEM requirements to group leads
  • Take responsibility of education regarding sustainability management
  • Sustainability Monitoring:
  • Analyse and collect all data required for the sustainability key indicators from your division for HSELinx, Magna sustainability report and the sustainability dashboards
  • Communicate current challenges and forecast future ones internally and to the group sustainability leads
  • Ongoing plausibility check of the sustainability key indicators
  • Sustainability Improvement:
  • Take responsibility of the Mafact 6.13 Sustainability Improvement questionnaire and associated tasks
  • Attend group sustainability meetings and implement where feasible other success projects
  • Take responsibility to reach Mafact 6.13 target score
  • Develops corrective action plans for Mafact 6.13 GAPs
  • Developing new initiatives to help their plant become more sustainable
  • Seek innovative solutions to waste, water, and energy reduction
  • Put together business case/calculate ROIs for sustainability projects
