KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To comply with the rules, requirements and agreements of the company at all times.
  • To carry out all instructions given through the chain of supervision.
  • To develop and carry out all necessary maintenance and repair requirements of machines and equipment as instructed.
  • To be competent in a variety of electro-mechanical skills including fault finding on electrical and mechanical equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, the use of standard maintenance machine tools.
  • To assist production and Hygiene with identifying the best repair solution to minimise production downtime during maintenance and breakdown activity’s.
  • To communicate with other departments on matters relating to:
  • Recurring and potential problems.
  • Initiatives for ongoing improvements.
  • To become fully acquainted with and new plant or equipment as required.
  • To actively contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the quality, performance, efficiency and housekeeping standards of the department by:
  • Housekeeping.
  • Participation in team or individual activity seeking ongoing improvement.
  • Training of other employees.
  • Undertake any training or education requirements identified by the company as being necessary for the development of the individual in relation to his/her existing or foreseen role.
  • To keep all tools in a hygienic condition and logged to ensure they do not pose a risk to product contamination.
  • To be cooperative, committed and flexible to the success of the company.”
  • To work at all times at a site supervisory level, within the business.

KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Decision making at all levels.
  • Experienced in electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault finding. Including knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication.
  • Able to understand technical instructions.
  • Problem solving and continues improvement knowledge.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good H&S knowledge.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • To have good inter departmental skills, liaising through various meetings and briefs.
  • Good computer skills, maintaining and entering data on the maintenance management system.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Completion of the nighttime maintenance plan, Equipment is production ready and the fast and effective repair of all breakdowns. Deal with and supervise contractor activities as required.

JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure that all equipment and site services are working and safe to use. To minimize any disruption that maintenance and breakdown activities have on production.
