Company Description Swissôtel Resort El Quseir Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Swissôtel Resort El Quseir, Egypt. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facility's systems and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic environment while contributing to the overall guest experience and operational efficiency. Monitor, inspect, maintain, and repair building services and equipment, including HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, generators, domestic water systems, pumps, elevators, lighting, and plumbing Implement and execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programs to ensure systems operate efficiently, consistently, and safely Respond promptly to engineering and guest service requests, minimizing downtime and coordinating urgent repairs Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, complete shift handover reports, and update maintenance logbooks and checklists Monitor energy consumption and assist in implementing energy-saving and sustainability initiatives Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, Security) to support guest operations and resolve issues quickly Conduct regular inspections of guest floors, plant rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to verify safe and appropriate conditions Ensure all systems and maintenance practices comply with local regulations and the facility's operational standards Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage Assist in training or guiding junior engineers/technicians as needed Provide clear and detailed handover information to the next shift, documenting all outstanding tasks, pending work, and critical issues Qualifications Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an engineering/maintenance role within a 4- or 5-star hotel, resort, or large facility Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building services Proficiency in reading technical drawings/schematics and using maintenance software/systems Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous Familiarity with local regulations related to fire safety, health and safety, and mechanical/electrical codes Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently during shifts Experience with energy management and sustainability practices in facility operations Thorough understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and best practices Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle urgent breakdown situations effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting Collaborative mindset and customer-focused approach to maintenance and problem-solving Job-Category: Engineering & Maintenance Job Type: Permanent Job Schedule: Full-Time
