MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL QUALIFICATION)
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Hours: Alternative shift pattern as follows:
Week 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm Monday – Friday
Week 2: 2:00pm – 10:30pm Monday – Thursday and 2:00pm – 8:00pm Friday
Salary: £40,000 - £43,500 depending on qualifications
Duration: Permanent
Benefits: 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays – increasing at 3,5 and 10 years’ service, production bonus up to 6%, enrolment into company NEST pension scheme, workwear provided after 3 months, overtime paid at time and a half over 42 hours worked.
Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves keeping machines running at their best? We’re on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical qualifications to join a busy, friendly team in Newmarket, Suffolk.
You will be the go-to hero for keeping downtime to a minimum, tackling PPM and reactive maintenance and ensuring machinery and site facilities are in top shape.

· Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal downtime.
· Respond to breakdowns and unplanned stoppages, providing quick and effective solutions to get production back on track.
· Use fitting and assembly skills, including hand tools and marking out, to complete maintenance tasks.
· Support wider building maintenance requirements as needed.
· Apply skills in welding, fabrication, soldering, brazing, and sheet metalwork (desirable but not essential).
· Work closely with machine operators, production staff, and the maintenance team to fault-find, fit parts, and keep equipment running smoothly.
· Follow and support the company’s preventative maintenance schedule.
· Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety policies, as well as environmental and quality standards (BRC/ISO).
· Maintain high housekeeping standards across the workshop and production areas.
· Take on additional tasks as required in line with the evolving needs of the site.
· On occasion this role can also involve work at 2 other sites
