Location: Plymouth
Employment Type: Full-time, Shift - alternating weekly basis. 6.00am – 2.00pm / 2.00pm – 10.00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £39,171.60 (including shift premium)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimising downtime. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment.
  • Fault finding using CNC controls and PLC ladder diagrams
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimise equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on equipment use and maintenance.
