THE ROLE Chetola Resort is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This individual helps maintain the physical integrity, safety, and presentation of the resort, with a primary focus on condominium residences and support for Lodge hotel rooms and public spaces. This role is essential to delivering a seamless luxury guest experience — ensuring every space is fully functional, meticulously maintained, and guest-ready at all times. The Maintenance Engineer works behind the scenes and in guest-facing moments to uphold the Forbes standard of effortless excellence. WHAT YOU’LL DO Operational Responsibilities Perform general maintenance duties across the resort including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs Respond promptly to guest and team member maintenance requests Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, lighting, appliance, and in-room functionality issues Complete daily inspections of assigned areas to proactively identify maintenance needs Monitor and report unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions and take immediate corrective action Assist with snow removal, groundskeeping, and seasonal projects as needed Support preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate work order documentation Collaborate closely with Housekeeping, Guest Services, Security, and other departments to resolve issues quickly and discreetly Forbes Service & Presentation Standards Ensure guest spaces are fully functional, pristine, quiet, and free of visible defects before guest arrival Enter guest areas with discretion, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy Communicate clearly and courteously when interacting with guests, demonstrating calm confidence and ownership Anticipate maintenance needs by identifying early signs of wear, damage, or guest inconvenience Protect the aesthetic integrity of the resort by completing repairs that meet appearance and craftsmanship standards Shift & Team Support Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team leads Keep work areas, tools, carts, and storage spaces clean, organized, and presentation-ready Provide backup coverage for other shifts or urgent situations Uphold a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Requirements ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN ACTION At Chetola, attention to detail means noticing what others might miss and resolving it before it impacts the guest experience. Examples include: A door that closes perfectly and quietly every time Lighting that is consistent in brightness and color temperature No visible patchwork, exposed hardware, or unfinished repairs HVAC operating at comfortable levels without noise disruption Fixtures aligned, tightened, and fully functional Guest rooms and residences free from maintenance odors, marks, or visual defects Work completed cleanly with the space left better than it was found Maintenance Engineers take ownership of the final impression — ensuring every repair supports the feeling of effortless luxury.
