About the Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This includes planned preventative maintenance, rapid response to breakdowns, defect repairs, and optimizing our depot facilities and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled maintenance on high-volume picking machinery.
· Manage external contractors.
· Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production.
· Contribute to and manage Supply Chain technical projects.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves standing and walking for much of the shift, as well as lifting (up to 15kg), bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching.
What We’re Looking For:
· Minimum Level 3 engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical).
· Proven experience in a maintenance department.
· Demonstrated experience with automated conveyor systems.
· Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
· IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
· Experience managing a technical team.
· Experience with automation equipment like Dematic, TGW, Knapp, or Vanderlande.
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
