Downer’s Maintenance & ITS business is proud to be expanding its footprint across South Australia, delivering vital road and asset maintenance and construction services across the Barossa, Riverland and South East Regions, covering approximately 5,600 km of sealed road network. It’s an exciting time to be part of a team that’s delivering these critical works across the state. We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & ITS business in Murray Bridge or Walkley Heights. The position would be well-suited to someone with 1-3 years’ experience in the Roads industry, ideally with exposure to working on road maintenance projects. Key responsibilities Provide technical and operational support to ensure maintenance works meet safety, quality, and asset performance standards. Develop accurate scopes, work programs, and cost estimates for maintenance and minor capital works. Conduct site inspections, validate repairs, and analyse asset performance data to inform strategies. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to optimise delivery and resolve technical issues. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce rework. Availability to work away when required What you’ll bring Degree in Civil engineering (or related discipline). 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance engineering or asset management, ideally in road or civil infrastructure. A well-developed understanding of planning, execution and financial reporting of projects. Able to express, engage and influence outcomes through high levels of communication and teamwork. Able to interpret technical standards and apply to achieve required operational outcomes. Commitment to quality outcomes with a focus on delivering in full and on time.
