POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Engineer plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the facility’s maintenance operations across 4 food manufacturing and distribution centers. This individual leads a team of facility managers, supervisors, and skilled technicians in maintaining essential plant systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, boilers, high-pressure steam, air compressors, and food processing equipment. This role is accountable for ensuring safety, compliance, preventive and predictive maintenance planning, and execution of maintenance strategies that support operational uptime and food safety.
The Senior Manager is also responsible for vendor oversight, regulatory compliance, CMMS performance, and budget adherence, while fostering a culture of safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Advanced certifications in maintenance or operations (CPMM, Six Sigma, TPM) preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of progressive maintenance experience in an industrial or food manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or senior management role overseeing facilities, maintenance teams, and capital projects.

KEY SKILLS & TRAITS:

  • Strong leadership, people development, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Analytical thinker with a results-driven and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call support for critical issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; bend, stand, walk, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (below 40°F), on rooftops, and around noisy machinery.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies across a large facility footprint.
