Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Duty Engineer is an essential member of the Engineering Department. The main objective of this role is to diagnose and provide service or repairs to hotel equipment. This team responds to inquiries regarding plumbing, steam, gas, electrical, HVAC, interior, paint, and fire safety. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintenance: Diagnose and handle all equipment repairs throughout the building, including motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and related equipment
  • Installation: Install, relocate, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment as needed for renovations, outlet additions, exhibits, and energy conservation programs throughout the hotel
  • Service: Respond promptly to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in guest rooms or public areas, as well as to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, and other urgent situations
  • Communication/Teamwork: Working with team members to ensure guests are always taken care of
