About the roles We have two Maintenance Engineer vacancies within our Hamilton Manufacturing team: Day Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday to Friday Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety. You’ll play a critical role in supporting production teams to meet schedules and delivery commitments. You will: Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules Respond to breakdowns and complete timely repairs Identify machine faults and recommend reliability improvements Use our CMMS to record work and maintenance activity Support Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and root cause analysis Raise purchase orders and gather quotes for mechanical work Work closely with supervisors, production teams, and external contractors Help maintain a safe, organised, and high-performing work environment About you You’re a practical, trade-qualified engineer who enjoys hands-on maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You think ahead, solve problems methodically, and take pride in keeping plant and equipment running reliably. Ideally, you’ll bring: Degree or technical certification in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field, Level 4 At least 3 years’ experience as a trade-qualified engineer in manufacturing Strong mechanical fault-finding capability Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, or fabrication (desirable) Knowledge of PPS/root cause analysis and Lean principles Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time management Solid IT skills; experience with Excel or SAP is advantageous Strong communication skills and attention to detail Working at Gallagher Joining Gallagher means being part of a global technology leader that invests in its people, its plant, and long-term careers.
