About the role We have a Maintenance Engineer vacancy in our Pukekohe Manufacturing team: Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and production targets are met. This is a hands-on role across a diverse manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities: •Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules •Respond to breakdowns and complete timely repairs •Identify machine faults and recommend reliability improvements •Use our CMMS to record work and maintenance activity •Support Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives •Participate in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and root cause analysis •Work closely with supervisors, production teams, and external contractors •Help maintain a safe, organised, and high-performing work environment You’ll work across a range of equipment and departments, including: •Hydraulic presses, press tooling (including custom-built machinery), and thread forming equipment •Welding equipment and production jigs •Hot Dip Galvanising and Electroplating plants (pumps, motors, pipework, chemical tanks, boiler systems) •Effluent treatment systems The role includes work with pumps, motors, and industrial systems, and may involve heights, forklifts, and cranes. There is also opportunity to support design and improvements using AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and CNC systems. About you You’re a practical, trade-qualified engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to be hands-on. You’ll bring: •Degree or technical certification in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field, Level 4 •At least 3 years’ experience as a trade-qualified engineer in manufacturing •Strong mechanical fault-finding capability •Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, or fabrication (desirable) •Knowledge of PPS/root cause analysis and Lean principles •Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time management •Solid IT skills; experience with Excel or SAP is advantageous •Strong communication skills and attention to detail We’re looking for someone reliable, versatile, and ready to hit the ground running. Responsibilities
