Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth and safe running of our new facility. This role is vital in ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and building systems are maintained to the highest standards, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

WHAT YOU’LL DO-

  • Plan and carry out preventative maintenance on all site machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with statutory inspections.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements where needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance work follows health and safety legislation, with appropriate risk assessments and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Support the upkeep of building systems, including ripening rooms and HVAC.
  • Train production staff on machinery use and basic maintenance.
  • Maintain an up-to-date asset register for all equipment.
  • Oversee external contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Report misuse or unsafe operation of machinery and suggest improvements.
  • Perform general building maintenance and support hygiene standards across the site.
