ROLE – Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical)  


SALARY - $100,000 - $125,000 per annum, dependent on experience  


TYPE – Permanent  


LOCATION – Southwest Sydney, NSW  


My client is a leading manufacturer operating within a fast-paced production environment. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer with both mechanical and electrical skills to join their team in the Sydney area on a permanent basis. 


The Maintenance Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar Maintenance Engineering, Fitting or Technician position
  • Qualifications and experience across both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery would be advantageous
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a maintenance team
  • Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety


The Maintenance Engineer role will involve:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing equipment and site machinery
  • Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime
  • Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults
  • Maintaining conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Assisting with the installation, commissioning and improvement of new machinery and equipment
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Completing maintenance records and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained
  • Working closely with production teams to maximise plant performance
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures
  • Participating in an on-call or shift rota where required
