Job Summary

The primary responsibility will be to lead the maintenance team to have all equipment in proper working order and have a preventative maintenance program to ensure that equipment breakdown is minimized.
Detailed records to be kept on equipment so that replacement parts can be sourced quickly without delay. Maintenance team members are trained on all aspects of equipment maintenance and repair and work in a safe manner.
Develop a trusted working relationship with production so that production trusts the work completed by maintenance and that maintenance trust production to use the equipment in a safe and non-abusive manner.
The equipment at Protectolite is showing its age and some key spare parts may not be available and substitutes may be required.

Duties

  • Be the Key Management Representative on the Health and Safety Committee to ensure that there are no hazard at Protectolite which can lead to employee injuries.
  • Good working knowledge of compression molding, water jet, CNC, Robotics equipment
  • Ability to read drawings and be able to figure out which parts affect the functionality of the equipment and ascertain which faults are caused by which piece of equipment.
  • Direct the maintenance team to be able to pro-actively repair or replace parts that my be an issue
  • Work with the Plant Manager to ensure that the priority maintenance items are addressed before it becomes an issue
  • Implement a simple but effective Preventative Maintenance program on all key equipment.
  • Ensure all repairs are documented so that any future failures can be traced to the repair that was previously made
  • Participate in Protectolite’s Production meetings to ensure knowledge of what is planned so that maintenance can ensure equipment is in operating condition
  • Be on the floor 80% of the time so that the production team is aware of maintenance’s presence at Protectolite
  • Use Fundamental Engineering Concepts to improve equipment conditions
  • Learn about the composite business and manufacturing as a whole.

Skills

  • Ability work in a high pressure manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience with hydraulic, CNC, and CAD
  • Previous experience in a molding environment and mold shops would be highly beneficial
  • Experience in using fundamental engineering principles
  • Experience in making improvements to current processes
  • Ability to learn new skills and adopt best practices

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
