ABOUT US

Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. Damen Services is responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of delivered installations/vessels. Commissioning, repair, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most prominent of these. Also the realization of training for crews, the delivery of ships, maintenance management and the supply of parts during (new) construction are part of the services portfolio. Finally, as a business partner of Damen Shipyards’ customers, Damen Services also realizes structural and long-term projects.
The Asset Management Design (AMD) department is part of Damen Services. It is responsible for developing and supplying asset management solutions for our customers. This includes products such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans and maintenance analysis. The products are created in multi-disciplinary teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Maintenance engineer is responsible for drawing up and optimizing maintenance plans for new and existing ships. This is based on supplier data, analysis of maintenance data and Damen knowledge and experience.

  • Drawing up new maintenance concepts, optimizing existing maintenance concepts and the related maintenance products, maintenance documentation and maintenance information;
  • Collecting relevant information by means of reading professional literature, delving into the relevant equipment and technical matter, interviews with designers / managers, service engineers;
  • Analyzing and critically assessing the regulations of Manufacturers and suppliers;
  • Interpreting relevant laws and regulations;
  • Identifying the maintenance documentation, maintenance information and resources required for maintenance (spare parts, tools, etc.);
  • Setting up and filling the maintenance database.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • MBO / HBO education (vocational/bachelor): Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineer;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Maintenance management systems;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of automation in the field of maintenance management;
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance of ship systems is a plus;
  • Reading / interpreting technical drawings;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.
