JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join our dynamic engineering team in the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, along with expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics systems. Pharmaceutical industry experience is essential, as you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of critical equipment used in the production process.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Electrical Bias Engineering Experience:

Proven experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and system repair, ideally within a pharmaceutical, food, or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics Knowledge:

Solid understanding and hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including fault finding, repair, and maintenance.

  • Pharmaceutical Industry Experience:

Familiarity with GMP and other industry regulations is essential. Experience working in a controlled, high-standards environment.

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Additional qualifications in Hydraulics and Pneumatics are desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., GMP, SOP) are a plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office Suite, SAP etc.

Complete and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and actions taken. Ensure all reports comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements. Maintain maintenance documentation and records in line with audit requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform fault finding, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on electrical systems and machinery. Work with control panels, PLCs, motors, and drives to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Perform routine checks and proactive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of fluid power systems used in production equipment.

  • Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all maintenance work complies with pharmaceutical industry standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for all work performed to meet quality assurance guidelines.

  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules on equipment to minimize downtime. Carry out corrective maintenance when necessary, responding swiftly to any breakdowns or issues. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
· Equipment Optimization:
Collaborate with the engineering team to analyse machinery performance and suggest improvements or modifications to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Manage spare parts inventory and vendor coordination.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with the production, quality assurance & EHS teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that affect production schedules. Do real-time monitoring of machines. Provide training and guidance to Operatives & maintenance staff.
