GOOD TO KNOW:
Our site operates both day and evening shifts. Our maintenance teams are required to work on a roster covering our production hours which runs between 6am and 3am Monday to Friday. Often this would include overtime during the day on a Saturday. Our ideal applicant will be flexible and happy to adapt to our business needs. In return, we offer competitive salary, ongoing training and development opportunities, and you be joining a stellar team of work mates who not only want to see you succeed but will support you along the way.
Our Te Aroha/Waitoa sites in the Waikato is one of Silver Fern Farms most modern and up to date processing facilities in Aotearoa, employing up to 440 people at the peak of the season.
We have a great opportunity for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Fitter/Engineer to join our engineering team. Be responsible for the hands-on day to day mechanical repairs and maintenance within our strong, stable and progressive engineering team.
Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team, to identify faults and use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service to the processing plant. At times you will work in a sole charge capacity, all the while being entrenched as part of a maintenance team.
Your good interpersonal skills and an attitude for getting stuck in to get the job done as well as thinking outside of the box is valued and appreciated, we encourage new ideas and thought processes about how we can collaborate across our site to ensure the get to the root cause of issues and fix it right – first time.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects and installation of new site equipment as well as a wide range of mechanical engineering applications across the site. If you are interested in using your mechanical skills on a large industrial food processing site, and like the idea of working for one of New Zealand’s largest food exporters, we look forward to hearing from you.
