JOB DESCRIPTION

The Grand, York is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to effectively deliver both a preventative and reactive maintenance schedule for the hotel. As a member of our Maintenance team, you will develop strong working relationships with the hotel operations teams in order to maintain 5* standards by completing tasks effectively, and within allocated timescales. With a strong guest orientation and care, you will take ownership of ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety legislation and the company’s policies and procedures.
This role will be carried out over shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Excellent communication skills within your team and across other departments.
  • Being pro-active in your approach to all tasks as delegated by the Chief Engineer.
  • Being highly adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset to identify the root causes of problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Being able to carry out tasks both independently and as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of fields such us electrical, mechanical and plumbing, Health and Safety would be desirable.
