MAINTENANCE & FACILITY ENGINEER I

Shift: 1st Shift
Salary: $60,000 – $70,000
Job Type: Direct Hire
Location: Henrico, VA
We are seeking a talented Maintenance & Facility Engineer I to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and controls. The role involves identifying and managing asset reliability risks that could impact plant or business operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–5 years of experience in an industrial environment as a Maintenance or Reliability Specialist (or equivalent).
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage, develop, and lead work groups to achieve plant goals.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, cooperative, and productive work environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or SMRP certification.
  • Physical Demands
  • Ability to move throughout the plant environment, including climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Occasional computer work at a desk or workstation.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with maintenance, facilities, and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Develop engineering solutions to address repetitive failures and operational issues.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and technical teams.
  • Investigate equipment failures, diagnose issues, and recommend corrective actions to meet product quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead root cause and breakdown analyses using methods such as 5-Why and Cause Mapping.
  • Train and coach teams on reliability principles and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development of preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance programs, including:
  • Oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared imaging, motor current analysis, ultrasound analysis
  • Laser alignment, lubrication routes, roll management, torquing, calibration
  • Preventive maintenance optimization
  • Asset care planning
  • Prepare and/or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
  • Provide technical training on plant systems and functions.
  • Assemble and review bid analyses, making recommendations as needed.
