About Us Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.   Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.   About the Role Our Riverina Plant currently has an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Maintenance Fitter will ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef processing environment.   Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance on production machinery, utilities, and plant infrastructure to minimize downtime Attending breakdowns, diagnosing mechanical faults quickly and implementing effective repairs to maintain operational efficiency Participating in plant shutdowns and major overhauls including planning, execution, and post-maintenance testing Carrying out fitting and machining, pneumatic system maintenance, welding and hydraulic repairs/fabrication to ensure plant equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently Facilitating root cause analysis investigations and implementing effective strategies to prevent equipment breakdowns, ensuring both immediate corrective actions and sustainable long‑term solutions Ensuring all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations Other ad hoc duties including relevant projects   The hourly rates range from: Level 3 – $37.35 per hour Level 2 – $40.10 per hour Level 1 – $42.51 per hour   (Your final pay will be dependent on skills and experience)   About You Trade qualified Fitter and Turner with a minimum of two years’ post‑trade experience Proven ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team environment Hands‑on experience in maintenance and repairs within a fast‑paced manufacturing or processing environment Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently under pressure Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance work management practises, including planning and scheduling Competent in computer applications relevant to maintenance reporting and work order systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments Thorough understanding of WHS regulations and procedures, with a commitment to safe work practices Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including day and afternoon rosters   Why work for JBS?
