We are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for our Maintenance team in Dandenong South. Job Description Job tasks and responsibilities To carry out preventive and reactive maintenance of, or repairs to, plant and buildings as required. To have active involvement with the implementation, understanding and maintenance of all quality and food safety policies and procedures relating to the maintenance function as identified in the Company's Quality and Food Safety Policy and Procedures Manuals. Active involvement in workplace Health and Safety with particular regard to Confined Space Entry, Lock-out Procedures and Working at Heights. Excellent mechanical aptitude required to ensure adequate care and skill is applied to the repair and maintenance of all plant items. Be available for after hours plant maintenance via participation in Call-out Roster. Proven Maintenance Fitter experience in a FMCG, GMP and HACCP environment would be highly regarded. Skills and experience Essential Qualified Fitter and Turner with proven experience in: Packing lines. Pumps, motors and gearboxes. Tanks and Vessels. GMP awareness Knowledge of HACCP General machining – lathe and mill TIG welding Knowledge of LEAN principles Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights Able to work with a team Approaches others in a tactful and professional manner. Flexibility in hours to be able to work overtime, including weekends. Ability to participate in a Call Out Roster. Be pro-active and use initiative without direction from Management or others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Have a positive attitude. Desirable Confine Space ticketed D-Permit ticketed CMMS experience Possession of a valid driver's license Possession of a forklift driving license Applications from suitably qualified people would be welcome.
