Maintenance Fitter Location: Smithtown | 1x Permanent - Full time     Nestlé Smithtown, the home of MILO, has an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Engineering Team.   The successful candidate will be required to perform shift work, and have a keen eye for the safety of themselves and those around them. Day to day tasks involve assisting Production Operators with the mechanical maintenance of equipment, perform maintenance inspection/repair/overhaul, work orders and attending to operational issues/failures.  You will be required to report on production downtime and perform root cause analysis on any mechanical downtime incurred. Collaborating with colleagues through hand over meetings and problem-solving sessions.   Essential Criteria Relevant trade qualifications (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade) & developed technical aptitude. Strong mechanical fault-finding ability on high-speed machinery. Physical capability for manual handling. A focus on continuous improvement and structured problem solving. Self-motivated with a proven ability to work with minimum supervision. Comprehensive numeracy, literacy, and communication skills. An ability to multi-task and deliver repeatable accurate results. A reliable team player and the ability to be flexible and adapt at short notice.   Desirable Criteria: Leadership and team management experience. Welding and light fabrication experience. Confined Space licence. Forklift Licence. Responsibilities
