Our facilities will enable plastic waste to be recycled locally and made into new bottles and packaging, rather than ending up in landfill. www.circularplasticsaustralia.com Job Description About this opportunity The primary purpose of the Maintenance Fitter is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required. Your key responsibilities will be to: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation. Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals. Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure effective support for safety, quality, and operational improvements Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on a range of specialized equipment Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments. Your skills and experience To be successful in this role, you’ll have: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment General mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance & repairs on manufacturing production lines Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair. A team player with a positive, self-motivated and proactive attitude is essential. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Qualifications Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar. Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent (desirable). Forklift license (desirable).
