KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Building services in Engineering for Construction.
  • Mechanical maintenance skills & qualifications (NVQ Level 2 minimum).
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices and safety regulations (e.g., Permit to Work systems).
  • Relevant experience in a heavy mechanical facility is essential.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to prioritize key tasks and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and concern for standards with a keen results orientation.
  • Flexible and willingness to cover duty engineer call out.
  • Proven track record of working with the systems as outlined.
  • Experience with building services including Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems also water and drainage systems.
Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU DO? MAKE AN IMPACT!

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and control systems across plant or site operations. This role ensures that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Performance of planned preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and instrumentation systems.
  • Install, commission and calibrate instruments including pressure, temperature, level and flow sensors.
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Support mechanical maintenance of motors.
  • Maintain and update control system documentation (building drawing and as fitting installation drawings).
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical and building safety standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with engineers and operators to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
  • Participate in plant shutdowns, upgrades and project installations.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, calibration certificates and test results.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support 24/7 operations if required.
