Description Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and following the specifically defined policies and procedures of Springfield Hospital, the Maintenance Generalist will: Be responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of a variety of building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, buildings and grounds, landscaping, and non-medical equipment in compliance with the applicable CMS Conditions of Participation. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of critical and non-critical systems, equipment, and components. Develop preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based upon manufacturer’s recommendations. Coordinate with vendors/contractors for projects and maintenance as required. Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, education opportunities, and related training. This position requires rotating on-call responsibilities. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 4 years’ general maintenance experience Commercial construction experience (preferred) Health care environment experience (preferred) Carpentry/ experience, including masonry, wall finishing, cabinetry, etc. (preferred) Valid Driver’s License Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Training/certification in construction technology, facility maintenance, carpentry or other related field (preferred) Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Basic computer proficiency Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
