Description

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintenance of equipment and property for the Tawatinaw Valley Ski Club.
  • Complete Lift 151 as required by AEDARSA and complete Fall Arrest training/certification, as well any required safety training. Tawatinaw Valley will provide time and funding for the completion of these courses.
  • Ensure daily inspection checklists are recorded in Edge Auditor Reporting App.
  • The reports include, but are not limited to:
  • Equipment maintenance records
  • AEDARSA inspections and checklists
  • Fuel logs
  • Lift operations checklists
  • Snowmaking logs, etc.
  • Preparation of records and reports requires use of Tawatinaw Valley laptop computer. Reports will be audited monthly.
  • Complete snowmaking start up and operations to include, but not limited to:
  • Cut hill face and lower ground grasses and perform landscape repairs as necessary.
  • Generator setup
  • Water pump inspections
  • Electrician sublet labor
  • Snow gun maintenance
  • Start-up and shut down according to ideal temperatures for snowmaking
  • Ground assessment of terrain.
  • Complete lift maintenance and operations to include, but not limited to:
  • To have T-bars ready for opening day, estimated 1st of December.
  • Perform spring takedown and maintenance to include, Carpet, lifts and equipment.
  • Lift maintenance and wire rope log records include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspect, repair and hang T-boxes at end of day
  • Mark grip locations before removal of T’s
  • Perform wire rope visual inspection, complete all measurements as per wire rope log – as per manufacture.
  • Lubricate haul ropes as per manufacture
  • Grease and inspect sheave assemblies. Change sheave locations in assembly to prolong life as required. Create program of long-term replacement of depreciated components on a yearly program.
  • Move counter weights, so that cables are riding in a new location (t-bars)
  • Remove, clean, inspect and grease T grips
  • Release tension, open up and oil springs of T’s. Rebuild with new springs as required.
  • Change lift motor oil
  • Inspect ignition parts
  • Sand and paint drive tower and towers as required
  • Perform lift building maintenance as required
  • Change oil in gearbox
  • Complete all service/maintenance required as indicated by manufacturer and governance body bulletins and communication.
  • Complete and record daily maintenance, including but not limited to:
  • Generator

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a university or college program in ski resort operations, millwright or in a discipline related to facility operation and maintenance OR an equivalent of technical training and experience in facility operations OR comparable life experience. Mechanical aptitude and experience in large equipment operation is required. Experience in ski area management is desirable. Well-developed interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a variety of people. The ability to work in a fast paced consumer driven environment and make responsible decisions quickly, as is the ability to organize goals and manage projects. Effective communication and organizational skills to handle the administrative functions of the position.
After a three-month probationary term, the employee may be offered a Millwright apprenticeship program (current compiled hours will go towards the program).
Admission to the Millwright apprenticeship program is subject to the discretion of TVSC leadership and executive.
