OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistance & Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A background in facilities maintenance and/or housekeeping is preferred, as the position involves basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or facilities maintenance is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Experience working in a senior living environment preferred
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Familiar with the WHIMIS program relating to the safe handling of all chemicals
  • Teamwork, communication and the ability to have fun is a must

REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST be available to work Thurs-Sun (8hour shifts)
  • Able to commute to Saanichton without issue

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all grounds work, including grass cutting, weeding, snow clearing & de-icing
  • Responsible for all suite repairs upon resident move outs, to be carried out in a timely manner eg. Painting, touch-ups, cleaning, etc.
  • Maintain all doors, windows, cabinets are in good working order
  • Ensure all garbage and recycling is removed from the building regularly
  • Rearrange furnishings and help with events as requested
  • Complete any work orders in a timely manner
  • Clean and sanitize the bathroom and kitchen areas in suites including washing the floors
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and light dusting in all areas of suites
  • Remove dirty sheets and towels for washing and remake the beds with fresh linens
  • Launder suite linens and towels daily in the commercial laundry room and return clean laundry to suite
    (Please note that we do not launder personal laundry unless specified

examples: bathmats, quilts, clothing, etc.)

  • Dust the common areas on the main floor of the building including the lobby, private dining room, hallways, living room, entrance way, sunroom, and library
  • Polish all furniture in the above areas
  • Vacuum or wash the floors in all the areas stated above
  • Clean and restock the public washrooms including the washrooms on the ground floor
  • Pick up the garbage and recycling from the office and other areas
  • Clean and sanitize the spa, salon, staff room, and elevators
  • Restock housekeeping cart and chemical bottles every shift
