SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Person to join our team at Sebright Nursing Home. This is a key role in ensuring that our facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained—directly supporting the comfort and well-being of our residents. The role begins with a 3-month probationary period at £12.50 per hour, increasing to £13.00 per hour upon successful completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a healthcare, residential, or similar environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, with relevant qualifications or certifications.
  • Familiarity with schematics and programmable logic controllers (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs when required.
  • Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance and storage areas.
  • Participate in training to stay up to date with best practices and compliance standards.
