SUMMARY

We offer free staff accommodation.
The successful candidate should have a wide variety of basic electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, general building maintenance experience related to the care and upkeep of guest villas, resort buildings, recreation centre and mechanical rooms. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, learning, problem solving, and interacting with other employees and guests through out the workday.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid BC Driver’s Licence in good standing;
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Must have verifiable experience in building maintenance;
  • Pool operator certification and experience a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and work on assigned projects and guest maintenance repair requests.
  • Perform minor mechanical work (e.g. diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, troubleshooting equipment, perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, etc.).
  • Perform minor electrical work, including but not limited to the replacement or repair of fixtures using appropriate tools and practicing safety (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent or fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, appliances, etc.).
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, adding new lines, furniture assembly, etc.).
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry work (e.g. use brush or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Maintain all equipment used in heating and ventilation;
  • Maintain efficient function of mechanical rooms (e.g. boilers, hot water tanks, water softener, brine tanks, glycol systems, etc.).
  • Assist in stocking, inventory management, unloading and delivery of supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining security of property.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
