Description The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and upkeep of all machinery, electrical systems, HVAC, and facility infrastructure. This position provides leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to the maintenance team while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance. Provides advanced technical expertise and guidance to Maintenance Technicians, including troubleshooting complex machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC issues. Ensures all maintenance tasks are performed in compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and company safety regulations. Oversees the installation, calibration, and maintenance of equipment, including Ishida scales, pumps, compressors, and robotic systems. Leads efforts in diagnosing and repairing advanced mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, including PLC troubleshooting, gear reducer rebuilding, and welding. Reviews and interprets schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic equipment to guide maintenance activities. Assists Planner/Scheduler in Developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. Trains and mentors maintenance team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. Communicates effectively with management, co-workers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and address maintenance needs. Acts as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related issues and provides solutions to minimize disruptions. Acts as the primary point of contact for third party vendors for onsite troubleshooting, upgrades, and planned maintenance tasks. Performs the job responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: High School Diploma or GED. 5+ years of experience in maintenance Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, motor controllers, low voltage electrical systems, and variable frequency drives. Expertise in welding techniques (MIG, Stick, TIG) and structural fabrication. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic equipment. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and company safety standards (LOTO, CSE, PPE, etc. ). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: Experience with automated conveyor systems, robotic operation/maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure. Proficiency in managing maintenance schedules and inventory systems. Highly motivated, self-directed, and resourceful with a commitment to continuous improvement.
