What You’ll Do As a Maintenance Lead, you’ll be a key player— helping to control, analyze, and adjust the operation of fixed heavy equipment for the purpose of purifying quartz sand to be used in the glass industry Operate and monitor plant equipment including fluidized bed dryers, conveyors, and bucket elevators Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on equipment Run quality control tests to ensure top-tier product standards Partner with the Plant Manager on daily operations and continuous improvements Help drive safety, productivity, and efficiency initiatives Communicate maintenance and production needs proactively Track and support key performance indicators (KPIs) Assist with repairs, housekeeping, and material quality control Support procurement of parts, tools, and equipment Step in wherever needed—this is a team-first environment What You Bring Experience in aggregate, sand, or asphalt plant operations Familiarity with dryers, screens, conveyors, or similar heavy equipment Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset Ability to perform basic computer tasks and recordkeeping Strong commitment to safety and compliance Willingness to work night shift, overtime, and weekends as needed Ability to handle physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, etc.) Work Environment Mix of indoor and outdoor work—expect real-world conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.) Hands-on role operating and maintaining heavy machinery Safety-first culture aligned with MSHA and company standards Why This Role Stands Out This isn’t just a job—it’s a career pathway.
