Join Our Team as a Full-Time Maintenance Leader in York, ON!
Your Mission:
As the Maintenance Leader you will ensure that facilities and business premises are in optimal operational and maintenance conditions to minimize downtime. You will lead the maintenance team, coordinate repair and maintenance activities, and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure continuous and efficient operations.

Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:

  • Leading the Maintenance Team’s daily activities, including scheduling work, assigning tasks, and supervising on-site contractors.
  • Managing coaching conversations, performance evaluations, and succession planning in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Creating and maintaining work schedules, leave plans, and training certifications for maintenance staff.
  • Monitoring and updating the Maintenance Management System (MMS) with data on breakdowns, wear and tear, and maintenance intervals.
  • Coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance with the Operations Manager and Process Leader to minimize downtime.
  • Controlling spare parts inventory and ensuring timely availability of tools, materials, and technical aids.
  • Assessing fault reports and operational data to identify root causes and propose improvements for site efficiency.
  • Preparing proposals for maintenance investments, replacements, and contract adjustments, and presenting them to the Operations Manager.
  • Requesting and assessing quotations from third-party vendors for parts, repairs, and service contracts to support cost-effective decision-making.
  • Attending monthly Safety, Health, and Environment site inspections to stay aligned with compliance and safety standards.
  • Promoting organizational culture and values by modeling inclusive, communicative, and collaborative behaviors across the team.

This job is for you if you:

  • Have post-secondary education in Maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Bring at least three years of experience in maintenance management, with a strong understanding of operational workflows.
  • Have previous supervisory or management experience, demonstrating your ability to lead teams and oversee daily activities.
  • Are familiar with process and mechanical components of Anaerobic Digestion facilities—this experience is a valuable asset.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, SCADA, and ERP systems, to manage data, reporting, and maintenance planning.
  • Hold a valid Driver’s License.
