About The Role As a Maintenance Improvement Technician / Leading Hand at our Mayfield site, you will play a key role in improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime through practical, hands‑on mechanical work. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, operators, and engineering teams to identify recurring issues, implement targeted fixes, trial improvement initiatives, and support projects that enhance the performance and safety of the Contistretch plant.This role is ideal for an experienced Fitter or Boilermaker who enjoys problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and hands‑on mechanical work. While primarily focused on practical, on‑the‑tools improvements, you will also contribute to planning and maintenance systems where required.Key Responsibilities: Identify chronic mechanical issues and deliver practical solutions to improve reliability Conduct hands‑on mechanical repairs, modifications, and improvement works Assist in implementing preventive strategies and provide input into maintenance plans Support the Contistretch Superintendent to improve equipment performance and reliability Contribute to the management and upkeep of master data, CMMS inputs, and improvement records Assist with contractor coordination or small project tasks as required Monitor critical spares and equipment condition Apply and promote safe work practices to support a strong safety culture   You are a mechanically skilled tradesperson with strong practical instincts and a passion for continuous improvement. You enjoy solving mechanical problems, improving equipment performance, and collaborating within a team‑focused industrial environment.Qualifications & Experience: Trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker, with mechanical experience and/or an Engineering Diploma Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial, or mining environments Proven ability to solve mechanical issues and apply sound maintenance and reliability principles Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with contractors and suppliers Ability to prioritise work across multiple tasks while maintaining high quality Working knowledge of SAP (essential) and/or other CMMS planning systems Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and general computer systems Strong commitment to safety and Zero Harm Key Benefits Below are some of our key central benefits that are available to InfraBuild employees.
