At this time, we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Machinist to join our AmerCable Maintenance Team. This team is committed to the maintenance of the facilities and operations. Responsibilities:  Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the required dimensions and tolerances of machined parts Collaborate closely with machine repair teams to optimize the efficient production of essential machined parts, utilizing manual machining tools for timely machine repairs Perform routine maintenance on manual machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to verify dimensions Responsible for maintaining an organized and up-to-date inventory of specially machined parts essential for machine repair Perform tip and die repair of production tooling as needed Responsible for the installation and support of all capital projects as deemed necessary Support other Plant Engineering department activities Adhere to all AmerCable’s Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices Follows and abides by Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards   Skills preferred include: High school diploma or GED Must have formal training or apprenticeship in machining Must have proven experience operating manual machine tools in a manufacturing or machining environment Must be proficient in TIG, MIG and ARC welding Must be able to obtain state boiler license Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, both verbally and in writing Good reading comprehension Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment Required to work at heights above ground level Must be able to operate a forklift Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50lbs  AmerCable is an equal opportunity employer.
