Description

Astute’s Power Team are working with a leading independent waste management company who have a large presence in London. They are in the process of developing a brand new Waste Transfer Station, located in Barking, and are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the team.
As the Maintenance Manager you will be managing the maintenance strategy on site including the planned preventative maintenance programme, plant modification & projects, outages and longer term engineering requirements in addition to coordinating daily activities of technicians and fitters.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • An engineering qualification in a relevant Mechanical / Electrical field. Ideally a minimum Level 3.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certificate

PERSONAL SKILLS

The Maintenance Manager role would suit someone who has:

  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite
  • At least 5 years supervisor experience in a similar role from a similar relevant industry such as Waste Management, Power Generation, Process Engineering etc
  • Maintenance scheduling & coordinating experience
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE MAINTENANCE MANAGER ROLE

Reporting to the Transfer Station Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the site operates in full compliance with all current legislation, including environmental regulations.
  • Oversee and uphold health, safety, and security standards across the site.
  • Coordinate the effective management of all plant, equipment, infrastructure, and vehicles.
  • Supervise and support site personnel and contractors.
  • Oversee service agreements, contracts, and project delivery.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Handle all internal and external communications and maintain accurate documentation.
