JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all production and facility equipment and assure customer requirements are met. This objective will be met through a proactive and structured maintenance program.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • College or University program in a related field.
  • Recognized skilled trade designation/license.
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Business Acumen.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated people management abilities and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven servant leadership abilities.
  • Ability to motivate, influence, escalate issues and ideas, persuade the team and positively manage conflict.
  • English proficiency required.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel as required.
  • Experience in a Union facility is a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a union environment.
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Develop maintenance programs to give desired results and support OEE goals.
  • Recruit a talent base that can deliver maintenance objectives in a safe manner.
  • Accountable for establishing, and working within, an annual departmental budget.
  • Participate, and at times lead, in the capital planning process.
  • Assure maintenance activities are completed while observing all applicable regulations.
  • Establish third-party service contracts in areas such as snow removal, lawn maintenance, electrical sub-station maintenance etc.
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement continually looking for a better way.
  • Develop and communicate departmental metrics.
  • Communicate departmental KPI’s, successes and failures at Management reviews.
  • Coach and mentor skilled trades personnel as well as hold them accountable for their actions.
  • Assure departmental results deliver the outcome desired and the customer receives the best service possible.
  • Interact with other management members and foster a team atmosphere
  • Liaison with the authorities of jurisdiction when required.
  • Work with OEM equipment suppliers to achieve the best equipment results possible.
  • Take calculated risks and work through adversity.
  • Make solid decisions based on acquired knowledge.
  • Accept constructive criticism and react in a constructive manner.
