About the Role As Maintenance Manager DSL-01, you bring the existing asset management and turnaround strategy to life with external maintenance partners. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you act as the primary point of contact for all outsourced maintenance service providers. You will: Translate strategy into operational governance and measurable plant performance Build and lead an outsourced maintenance organization fully integrated with plant operations Design and implement the facility’s asset management and turnaround plan, including lifecycle management, capital planning, and risk assessment Optimize maintenance budgets and contractor performance Minimize downtime to prevent demurrage, delays, and production losses Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards A typical day combines strategy, contractor leadership, and operational reliability. You will coordinate with operations and external partners, improve preventive maintenance plans, monitor asset performance, and strengthen the plant’s long-term reliability framework. Your Profile You are excited to shape a brand-new plant from the ground up and turn plans into a fully operational, state-of-the-art SAF facility in Delfzijl. You want to build, improve, and professionalize processes that will define how this plant operates for years to come. And you recognize yourself in the following: - Fluent in Dutch and English - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Asset Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, or Operations Management - 10+ years of experience in Asset Management, Maintenance, or operations leadership in industrial production environments - Reside in or near the Delfzijl area Experience - Experience in logistics, storage terminals, (petro)chemical or oleochemical operations, or manufacturing - Proven track record managing outsourced maintenance providers or technical service contracts, including performance-based models - Proficient in CMMS/EAM, familiar with reliability tools (RCM, RCA, FMEA), and knowledgeable about safety compliance and regulatory maintenance requirements About DSL-01 DSL-01, part of the SkyNRG group, is building Europe’s first dedicated sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production plants in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The plant is currently under construction and will become a state-of-the-art facility producing SAF at industrial scale. Once operational, it will convert sustainable feedstocks such as waste oils and residues into SAF, providing airlines with a reliable, low-carbon alternative to conventional jet fuel. The facility will include advanced process units, storage terminals, and a fully integrated maintenance and reliability system to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. In the future, the plant will be a benchmark for SAF production in Europe, demonstrating high efficiency, safety, and sustainability, and serving as a model for scaling up SAF production globally. At DSL-01, you will play a key role in shaping this facility from the ground up. Your work will directly impact the operational performance, asset reliability, and long-term success of the plant, helping to make SAF a standard for aviation.
