JOB SUMMARY

A hotel maintenance person must perform various tasks like general maintenance, preventive and emergency maintenance of the hotel while ensuring that Hilton Brand Standards are adhered. The maintenance person must have extensive knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry experience. Knowledge of safety requirements working well without constant supervision is mandatory.
Skills required by hotel maintenance personnel are as follows:
Operational skills: High amount operational skills are required to know all types of maintenance jobs like repairing, working of equipment, engineering work etc.
Customer service skills: Hotel maintenance is all about providing high amount of quality to its customers.
Interpersonal skills: A Hotel maintenance person should have good interpersonal skills as he/she deals with superiors, colleagues and different kinds of customers.
Management skills: A Hotel maintenance person also has to perform job of a supervisor or a manger thus requiring management skills.
Scheduling and planning skills: A maintenance person has to perform a number of jobs at a time thus planning and scheduling is a must.

Experience:

• Maintenance: 3 years (required

• Must perform task like repairing of various equipment and materials, replacement of electronics, painting, cleaning or wiring work, wall papering, carpentry and general repairs.
• Maintenance of electronics like refrigerators, television sets, air conditioners etc. must be done regularly. And mechanical equipment maintenance and fixing.
• Solving guest complains in a timely fashion.
• To keep a check that safety equipment such as fire alarm, fire extinguisher etc. are in place and are in working condition.
• Refurbishing of chairs, tables, doors, windows and counters in order to keep these maintained for a long time.
• Be physically fit enough to lift and carry at least 40 lbs., and able to stand and walk over extensive time periods.
• Ground maintenance like cleaning and maintenance of parking lot, garden or landscaping, swimming pool etc.
• Schedules must be flexible, and hotel maintenance workers should have reliable transportation.
• Required to complete daily rounds, checking on basic hotel accommodations and identifying and reporting any problems.
• Must be on call 24/7 for emergency calls.
• Training the junior staff.
