The Huntingdon Hotel & Suites and Pendray Inn and Tea House is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the team. The Maintenance department plays a central role in keeping the hotel running smoothly, through upkeep and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing hotel infrastructure to ensure functionality and safety, including playing an active role on the Company’s Joint Health and Safety Committee, managing maintenance staff (hiring, training, supervising), working with department heads to organizing repairs, and management of major renovation projects.

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Management experience
  • Class 5 driver license
  • Must be competent in the all or most of the following areas:
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Painting
  • Tile Setting
  • Drywall
  • Irrigation
  • Boilers
  • Door Locks (electronic and conventional)
  • Laundry equipment
  • Scissor and Boom Lift

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a positive leader and lead by professional example
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment calmly and professionally
  • Be able to physically lift 50 lbs
    This is a fulltime, permanent position. The right candidate will be offered a competitive salary based on his/her experience with full company benefits after probationary period, and RSP after three years. 4% Vacation pay with increase to 6% after 3 years.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for the Hotel, Inn, buildings, and grounds.
  • Work with General Manager to submit and maintain an annual maintenance budget, including operations, projects, and labor projections.
  • Work closely with department heads to ensure the smooth operation of hotel maintenance
  • Hire, train, and schedule maintenance and landscaping staff
  • Make recommendations to the General Manager in regards to large scale projects and planning, and work together to oversee these.
  • Maintain a positive working environment and professional demeanor in accordance with Company policy at all times.
  • Conduct annual emergency preparedness drills and reviews.
  • Work with and organize contractors as needed, and conduct annual audits of these companies to ensure competitive pricing and standards to ethics in accordance with Company sustainability policy.
  • Work with the City and Fire Inspector as needed to ensure property is to code at all times.
  • Maintain seasonal maintenance programs in accordance with weather preparation.
  • Work closely and cooperatively with Leadership team.
  • Generally responsible for the maintenance of the property and buildings, including all other related tasks assigned by General Manager
