Description OVERVIEW: The Maintenance Manager is a working role which repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. The position will also complete a variety of special projects that can include but are not limited to concreate repair, construction, painting, and cleaning. The role also manages s the Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Workers, sets the maintenance budget, and oversees the maintenance department. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: · Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. · Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. · Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. · Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. · Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. · Repairs or replaces defective parts. · Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. · Lubricates and cleans parts. · Starts devices to test their performance. · Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. · Programs PLC’s. · Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. · Repairs electrical equipment. · Performs maintenance on production and office areas. · Perform building upkeep tasks that include but are no limited too painting, sanitation, grounds keeping. · Plans, organizes, and executed construction and demolition projects · Follows and ensures good manufacturing practices at all times · Follows and adheres to the company’s safety program · In charge of interviewing, hiring, and training employees as well as administering performance reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems · Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments and directly supervise the plant staff to ensure the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with company quality requirements. · Must be able to respond to emergency breakdowns by coming onsite or effectively delegating tasks to a skilled team member to ensure smooth operations. · Other duties as assigned. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee may be exposed to extreme cold environment. QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance experience to include all phases of preventive and corrective maintenance, including industrial and/or commercial facilities maintenance is required. PLC programming experience. Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
